Jennifer B Cutler: Galchenyuk has arrived, the Canadiens finally have a true #1 Center Alex Galchenyuk has been quite impressive to start the season and has cemented his place as the Canadiens number one center.

This could have been posted about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. Galchenyuk arrived about that time, he's just gotten better.

I would say last year was when he arrived... and was finally given first line minutes consistently.

But I think the point is that he has finally cemented himself as a centerman, not a winger.

I always said he was a little too slow footed for wing, down the middle he has options to pass or play left through right. Like the goal he scored.

If he continues to produce at a ppg pace, then he's certainly arrived as a legit if not one of the elite young #1 centers in the league. I'm gunna wait until at least the end of this season before I make that kind of declaration though... nevertheless, he's lookin really good so far!

For the chip and chase game employed by Montreal I believe so.

Except he is a superior skater to the majority of Habs wingers.

Let me explain myself better.

I think Galchenyuk is a top six winger for sure. But he is better suited to playing center. Not saying he can't play wing.

You're better off slamming your junk in a car door than having a logical conversation with that guy.
